10 Stages of Life

What makes up a person?

My Childhood.

I was born on September 17, 2005. I distinctly remembered this memory of my sister pretending to be a butterfly. I laughed so much that day.

Growing and Changing.

Middle school was one of those times that I realized I had to keep pushing through. This was a moment where even though if I couldn't find friends, I got all that I needed, myself and my family.

Adulting.

First day of the job! I was super nervous. My family works at a food hall, so I guess you could say I followed my families footsteps. while I messed up a couple of time at the cashier, my sister was there to help me.

New Horizons.

Finally, after four challenging years, I led the class of 2023 graduation. It was one of the first moments I saw that hard work always pays off. In this moment, I felt that I could get away with anything.

Up and Beyond.

After graduation, I felt that I had reached the stars metaphorically. I had no homework assignments, or extracurricular activities during summer 2023. All I could do was think of what could be possible.

A New Start.

Move in day! Well, technically I moved in early to volunteer in the Bronx borough. It was such a cultural shock to move into a city I had researched nothing about. Imagine how my mum must have felt!

In the Shallows.

Ultra Violet Night! This core memory of performing “Shallow” by Lady Gaga was one of the best feelings of performing I had ever had. It changed a chord within me. Maybe I should switch my career focus?

New Prospects.

Move Out Day! I remembered that I was having difficulty grasping that I finished my first year of college without my family's support. I can do things!

Friendship.

During the Summer, I made some of my best friends in my life during an internship at Columbia. Right before the program ended, my friend, Diego, and I posed our classic move.

Road to NYC.

Ever since 2021, I’ve fallen in love with the sport of running. Last year, I finished my first marathon at the New York City marathon at the age of 19. What was more fulfilling was raising funds for a charity dedicated to supporting the health of children in the city, Team for Kids!
